It’s been a crazy week since I came back from my Bangkok trip. Now I finally could sit down and blog, I have to say this at the TOP OF MY VOICE about the trip: I TOTALLY ENJOYED IT!
It’s been 9 years since I last visited Bangkok, which was during my honeymoon. The impression I had from that 9 years ago trip was that I DID NOT ENJOY IT. So this time, I agreed to go with my friends and regretted soon after I paid for the trip cos I just didn’t think I will enjoy Bangkok from the impression I had 9 years ago. But little did I know that Bangkok had developed quite a bit. More than that, it was really the company that made the trip so fun!
On the first day at Bangkok, The Platinum Mall just next to our hotel, Novotel had me big time. I spent a lot and there started my shopping craze for the 3 days.
At night, we went to Khao San Market and there are lots of food to try. My friends super enjoyed the food but not me cos I am a scarely-cat when it comes to food, especially street food. Even the 4-year-old Jayne that was with us had stronger stomach than me I think. The buzzing lively Khao San Market is a long street with lots of stalls selling stuff, pubs, restaurants and street hawkers. Very nice experience for me. My friends also did foot massage in the open-concept massage salon.
Chatuchak, every shopaholic’s favourite in Bangkok. I was also pleasantly surprised at the fashion and variety of stuff found there. It’s really huge and I didn’t get the chance to finish it even after 4 hours (I think). I bought 20 items for SGD150! I think I would have spent more if I was there any longer…
On the last day, we went for a tour at The Maeklong Railway Station and also the Damneon Saduak Floating Market. It was such enjoyable time. Even though I really like shopping, I very much enjoy sight-seeing or “experiencing” tour like this.
I really enjoyed this trip. In fact, I have been thinking about it since I came back and wishing I could go back soon to enjoy the shopping again and hoping to visit other floating markets perhaps? Seriously, I felt so refreshed and recharged after the trip. Actually, I also didn’t miss Vic & Celine as much as I thought I would. But I wished Vic was there with us at the trip cos it was such a happy trip and I wished he was there to share it with me.
Just to make mention, this is the first time I actually felt quite safe in a flight. Both to and fro trips were pleasant and stable. I actually hope to fly soon. Great job, Tiger Airways! Now, I am really looking forward for my upcoming trip to Taipei in November and I will be flying in Tiger Airways again!
